Polykatoikia I, II, III  2019

The eight-storey block of flats in the center of Athens was perfect for peripatetic explorations; I walked its floors up and down a few times with my 360 camera, taking in the subtle and grand differences between each flight of stairs. When a selection of frames was processed as photogrammetry, the buiding revealed itself to me as a tower, its insides now appearing also from the outside. The presence of my body produced holes into the building structure, and the porous-like appearance of the model added to the sense of ruination, like a cracked shell or a dissolving fossil. Three renders were chosen from the model, offering two views from the outside and one from inside, and they were presented as A3 prints at TaPRA 2019 at the University of Exeter. Read more here
